ClientViva Energy
Scope
Interactive Virtual Reality (VR) visualisation of the Refinery Field Centre as part of the formal Design Review process.
Result
VR highlighted several areas that needed to be redesigned to allow the facility to function correctly. VR visualisation also allowed enhanced additional informative overlays and design tools.
Benefits
Design issues were identified before construction work commenced.
Design changes during or after the build, would have resulted in budget over-run and delays to commissioning, adding significant cost to the project.
“Great payback compared to late scope changes – overall cost low compared to the cost of building works.”
